Art Museum

The Hartwig Art Foundation plans to open a major new contemporary art museum. It will be located at Parnassusweg 220, a former courthouse built in the 1970s at the edge of the southern financial district Zuidas. It aims to stimulate the production and visibility of contemporary art in Amsterdam and beyond and as such contribute to the creative fabric and cultural heritage in the Netherlands.

Cultural Space

For Amsterdam’s newer boroughs such as Noord, Zuidoost and Nieuw-West, the City is developing a ‘reference standard’ for culture, stating how many square metres of cultural space should be offered per capita.

Amstel Design District

Amstel Design District is a future-oriented mixed-use development that aspires to become significant for the whole city of Amsterdam. This scheme for a living and working community includes social housing, mid-rent residential, private sector homes, collective facilities, creative office space, retail and a design museum.
