- Bally’s Chicago is an upcoming casino resort that will be built in the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States. The complex will be in the city’s River West neighbourhood on the bank of the North Branch of the Chicago River, near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street. The plan was approved by the Chicago City Council in May 2022.
- The Chicago Joint Public Safety Training Campus will be a new state-of-the-art facility to serve the city’s continued efforts to provide the best tools, technology and training environment for first responders. The campus will be located at is 4433 W Chicago Ave in West Garfield Park on the site of an old railroad yard. The campus also includes a Boys and Girls Club, restaurants, and public art by artist Bob Faust and Edra Soto.
- The Department of Planning and Development’s Public Outdoor Plaza (POP!) program launched in early 2022 to help community-based organisations revitalsze underutilised land along neighbourhood retail corridors. The program sought proposals to create strategic community gathering spaces that serve as destination points for residents, shoppers, commuters and neighbourhood visitors. Viable proposals were eligible for up to $500,000 in City funding for construction, design and maintenance costs.
