
- Three institutions: Guangdong Art Museum, Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Centre and Guangdong Literature Museum are being amalgamated through a ‘three in one’ project.
- Several iconic large-scale public cultural facilities have been built in recent years including Guangzhou Culture Museum, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera House and Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum.
- Preservation work on heritage sites includes the renovation and expansion of the Memorial Hall of the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and a protection project for Erling Tombs, part of the second Mausoleum Museum of the Southern Han Dynasty.
- Guangzhou plans to build new large-scale public cultural facilities, including: Guangzhou Museum, Guangzhou Science Museum, the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of Communist Youth League of China, Guangzhou Science and Technology Library, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Music Museum.
