
- Space Stockholm (SPACE – Contemporary Digital Culture Centre AB) is a new digital culture-focused community centre in the heart of the city that covers gaming, music, content creation and digital knowledge exchange.
- The Stockholm University of the Arts is planning a relocation to the City’s meatpacking district (Slakthusområdet) as part of a wider urban regeneration programme. The new building is expected to open in 2029.
- The redevelopment of the area of Slussen – stretching from Stockholm’s Old Town to modern Södermalm – where a traffic hub will be converted to a more pedestrian-oriented district.
- The culturally and historically significant Lövholmen area is undergoing a transformative mixed-use redevelopment with housing, schools and preschools, parks and offices.
- The city is investing in site improvements and additional programming at Snösätra, a popular area for graffiti and street art.
- Gasklocka 2, a former gasworks from the late 19th century, is being transformed into a new amphitheatre for cultural events with capacity for 2,000 people. The project is expected to open in 2026.
- In the summer of 2019, the City undertook a series of tactical urbanism and placemaking interventions at Sergels Torg, a major public square in the city centre, bringing in chairs and tables, music, theatre, art exhibitions and family programmes.
