
- Opened in September 2022, the Namsan Creative Centre is a space for the development of theatre and dance productions. The studio is equipped with an XR and special effects studio, recording and editing suites and Hologram facilities.
- The Seoul Museum of Craft Art opened in 2021 in a refurbished school building and is Korea’s first public craft museum. It houses nearly 22,000 artifacts from ancient to contemporary works and covers a wide range of craft disciplines.
- Gwanghwamun Square, the major public square adjoining the historic palace is being remodelled as part of a vision for the city’s central district. Work took place in 2022 to transform the Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts into the New Sejong Art Centre.
- The Han River and Nodeul Island run through the centre of Seoul, with numerous riverside parks and cultural attractions enjoyed by citizens and residents. The SMG plans to enhance these with major facilities for street performance and busking along with the installation of public art works on Nodeul Island. Nodeul Island, a future cultural landmark, was renovated in 2019 as an ‘Art Island’, with a library, music lounge and live performance hall.
