  • In Manhattan, the Studio Museum in Harlem is building a new facility on 125th street; and the New-York Historical Society is building the American LGBTQ+ History & Culture Museum.
  • In the Bronx, Mill Pond Park will soon be home to both the Bronx Children’s Museum and the Universal Hip-Hop Museum.
  • In Brooklyn, the New York Aquarium has been fully reopened to the public for the first time since it was devastated by Hurricane Sandy in 2012; in Crown Heights, the Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy recently opened its new home in the Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Community Centre, joining a growing community hub in the historic Bedford Avenue Armory.
  • On Staten Island, the historic Snug Harbour Music Hall will soon open a new annex as it undergoes a transformation into a modern performing arts centre; and the Staten Island Zoo continues work on critical upgrades.
  • In Queens, the Queens Museum is continuing to develop space in its recently-expanded facility to increase its fine art storage capacity and create a new space for children and youth; while the Louis Armstrong House Museum has opened a new education centre.
  • All of these projects include City government funding and are supported by the public-private partnerships that define New York City’s cultural sector.
